Target Group

This course is suitable for anyone who provides care or support to an adult at risk of abuse who live in their own home. 

NB: This course is not appropriate for staff who work in residential homes.

Overall Aim of The Training

The aim of this course is to empower participants to protect those adults at risk of abuse by providing an overview of doorstep crime and scams which target those who may be especially vulnerable.

Objectives of the day

  • Gain a better understanding of doorstep crime and scams.

  • Be able to recognise warning signs that an at risk person is a victim or potential victim of door step crime.

  • Consider measures which can be taken to minimise the risk of people becoming the victim of this type of crime

  • Be clear about roles and responsibilities when responding to concerns that someone is the victim of this type of crime

This course links to points 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 of The National Competence Framework for Safeguarding Adults.

After attending the course, delegates will be required to complete an on line quiz and evaluation in order to obtain their certificate. Full details of how to do this will given to delegates on the day of the course.
