The majority of the programme is currently funded by agencies of the safeguarding board, most of who make relatively small contributions to the training and development budget. However this is inadequate in fully meeting the actual costs of the programme.
The training and development sub-committee is responsible for the development and monitoring of the multi-agency training programme. In response to issues such as non-attendance, costs of trainers and venues, and the need to evaluate the quality of the training a charging policy was introduced.
All income generated is utilised to maintain and expand the training programme.
