Introduction to Online Safety

Course Information

This course covers an introduction to aspects of safeguarding specifically in relation to online activity, interaction with others and in particular your digital presence online.
The course can be completed as a standalone course; it also forms the first part of Safeguarding Children Online training. 

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session, participants should:
• Be aware of communication systems engaged by children, young people and adults
• Have a greater understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and online interactions both from a professional and personal perspective
• Have an awareness of the law and reporting systems available to offer protection from abuse
• Be able to reflect on Safer Working Practice in relation to the use of technology

This is an introductory course for anyone who works with children or families in their paid or voluntary work; you don’t need any previous child protection training.
